Cannot Delete STUBBORN folder....
« on: July 31, 2012, 07:18:50 am »
I ran a Quick Verify and that went well....Then I went ahead and did an "UPDATE" and I got an error after like 4hrs about this folder that I did know of.  I'm not able to delete this folder or do anything to it.

Could it be one of my HDD is going bad or something?

Hi,

usually when there are errors in update or validate then flexraid recounts the drive as read only. Look in the logfile it sometimes is written there what service you have to do. And after that you can restart the pool again and it should have read and write rights.

What does the other log file show?

Not in Snapshot mode. Only in RT RAID.

@OP
Check the permission on that folder.

It's been a while I could never delete that folder....just been busy with things and haven't had a time to post.

Are you talking about right-clicking the file and checking permissions or somewhere under the flexraid config, to check permissions?

I get confused on which logs to post on here....you have a "FlexRAID.log" under c: drive(I do have trace eneabled) and then there is "FlexRAID.sys.c1-1" I'm not sure which logs what to tell you the truth.

You should zip up all FlexRAID related logs and upload them.

As far as permissions, I am referring to NTFS permissions.
Try posting a screenshot of those permissions for that folder.

Well I was a way fora  while and did not get a chance to see your last post.  I ended up taking the (drive) out that the Folder resided on,transferred the data
and reformatted the drive outside flexraid.  Also did a hardware scan to see if the drive was OK and the drive was fine. That Stubborn folder was gone after the format.
Put the data back on the drive, and re-added it to the pool.

I guess I never knew whether it was a flexraid issue but taking the drive out of the pool the problem was still there. hopefully, I don't have I don't
run into that problem again, it takes a while to fix if that is what I have to go through with stubborn folders/files.

Thanks
