Storage pool re-start on WIN7 reboot
« on: September 25, 2011, 11:48:51 am »
Firstly may I say that this is a fantastic application and is working perfectly for me, so Thanks.

My question is can I make he Storage Pool re-publish automatically after a re boot and if so how?

Many thanks,

No, I don't know where you got that.

For ex, say you want Movies as a share, and it maps to V:\Videos\Movies (V: being the Storage Pool virtual drive).

You should enter:

Code: [Select]
Movies=V:\Videos\Movies /GRANT:Everyone,FULL

Say you want different rights for user1 and everyone else, enter:

Code: [Select]
Movies=V:\Videos\Movies /GRANT:user1,FULL /GRANT:Everyone,READ

Also bear in mind that you need to manually share those folders once, for FlexRAID to be able to re-share them at the next boot.

I am new to this to but what I think you are is after is where is asks for a delay and this is set to 0, this dsiables auto pool restart. change this to 1 which is what I did and the pool will start automaticall on restart.

This is from teh flexraid webui start menu under settings!

That is correct. The delay is expressed in milliseconds and 0 disables auto-start. For example, a setting of 5,000 would result in a 5 second delay on startup.

Ah, ok. Then yes, a positive delay has to be set.
I had previously 5000 (5 seconds), and I had issues - sometimes at boot had a crash of JET (jet_err_xxx.txt in your install folder). I increased this to 10000, and did not have this issue since.

I too am new and had the same question. I read the wiki 3 times and just didnt "get it". In my case I just had a really hard time finding the settings icon. I have to say that flexraid so far is Amazing! I love being able to have all of my movies in one pool under one path.
