Explanation about the options "Restrict Thumbs.db" and "Restrict Desktop.ini":

It is something useful only when using the Real-Time RAID in Expert mode and you frequently browse the source drives.
Although you think you are not changing anything on the source drives, Explorer will actually update the thumbs.db and desktop.ini files as you browse. Normally, FlexRAID can fix that if you run the Reconcile task. However, you can setup FlexRAID to prevent Explorer from generating and modifying those files when browsing the source drives. There are implications though with selecting those options as Explorer will no longer cache your thumbnails or remember certain folder view preferences.

Some users are experiencing problems when trying to access the web interface from a client computer (http://your-machine-ip:8080).
In order for that to work, the port 8080 needs to be open in the server (the machine running FlexRAID).

Note that it also allows to access it from your iPad
Of course, for that to work you need to be connected on the same network than your computer.

If you want to access it from outside your home, in addition you need to configure your router to direct tcp traffic to 8080 (or any port you would specify) to your-server-ip port 8080.

In summary:

The new FlexRAID Cruise Control interface takes control of your drives in order to automate a lot of things for you.
It can be a little daunting at first as it starts to take control over your drives, but fear not.
The new interface channel the same data safety with minimal intrusion as before (the only intrusion is controlling your drives).

1. FlexRAID can very easily return your drives to you if you choose to. You can choose to remove a particular drive and it being returned to you or you can choose to have all your drives returned to you by deleting the configuration.
2. The FlexRAID also offer an Expert mode configuration that let's you have control over your drives if you prefer that.

By default your FlexRAID configuration database file will be on your system drive root (usually C:\, but can be elsewhere if your system drive is not C:\).

If you run the FlexRAID service under a user other than the Local System account, the configuration database will be in that user's home directory.

or
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\config\systemprofile\
