AOC-SAS2LP-MV8 Driver issue, anyone with this card?
« on: November 03, 2011, 08:42:05 am »
I recently purchase a SuperMicro card AOC-SAS2LP-MV8. I installed the latest driver from their website (4.0.0.2010) but it appears that I have Blue Screen Of Death since I have installed this card.
I ran the mini bump file after the BSOD with Windows Debbuging Tools and I find the following message:

Unable to load image mvs94xx.sys, Win32 error 0n2
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for mvs94xx.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for mvs94xx.sys
Probably caused by : mvs94xx.sys ( mvs94xx+43b62 )

I already desinstall and reinstall the card and the Driver.
The card is currently located on my PCIe8 of my motherboard.
Please see below some details about my system:

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64
CPU: Phenom II x4 955
MOBO: GIGABYTE GA-890GPA-UD3H
RAM: 2x4gb G.Skill SniperDDR3 1333
GPU: Sapphire ATI 5770 Vapor-X
PSU: Seasonic X 660 Gold
Storage: SSD OCZ Vertex 2 120 gb (OS) (connected to the MOBO)
HHD: 4x 2TB WD green (connected to the CARD AOC-SAS2LP-MV8)
and 1x 1TB Hitachi (connected to the MOBO)
Card: 1 AOC-SAS2LP-MV8 with 2 Supermicro CBL-0097L-02 cables

Anyone with running with this card? Any idea or advise on it's setup? Driver or Firmware update?
I sent an email to supermicro support but so far no response...

Thanks :-)

Sorry to hear about your issues. I just got SAS2LP card and it seems to be working with no issues, but I'm running 2008 R2. Don't think it should be any different from WIn 7 though. Looks like there are others here that run the card and it works for them.

Looks like you are running the 32bit driver on a 64bit OS. Try installing the correct driver  ;)

Fyi, after doing multiple tests, my mobo was not fully "compatible" with the card... I used the gigabytes = issues..., i tried with a MSI mobo and didnt have issue... So i had to reconfigured my htpc and office pc...

FYI I'm running 3x the AOC-SAS-MV8 on a Gigabyte UD7 no problems, with the same driver, no problems.
(64 bit Win Server 2008R2)
FlexRAID expert/snapshot RAID/Storage Pool mode
Windows Server 2008 R2, 23 TB pool, Array1: 3TB redundancy, Array 2: 4TB redundancy, 11 drives total

I realize this post is getting old but I'm having the exact problem with BSOD when trying to install the driver.
What I find curious is it worked fine in my Asus P8B WS, but replaced it with h/w raid card.
Now I'm trying to use it for Flexraid in my Asus P6X58D Premium and can't.

So if the original poster has resolved his issue please post.
