No process listed for a RT update
« on: February 09, 2013, 09:04:57 am »
I am testing my script to shutdown properly my Server (See here)

Unfortunately, I just noticed that FlexRaid does report any process related to the "update" of the parity in RealTime.

It was said in the other thread that you (have to) wait a bit after deleting files (long enough for those deletes to be processed)

As there is no process related to the RT update, we don't know for sure that a RAID is yet updated after a massive copy into the pool.
Would it be possible to get info on the RT update as for any other process ? Or have a new method in the FlexRAIDcmd to query on that kind of update ?

There is no such thing as an Update process in RT RAID.
Parity is calculated live.

The only things processed in the background are delete operations.

You can stop the pool through your script safely without worrying about pending delete operations.
Again, the whole issue has been about Windows crashing the service on shutdown instead of waiting for it to stop properly.
