Logs, logs, logs! You must provide logs when reporting issues

  • You must provide all the logs when reporting an issue.
  • The FlexRAID logs on Windows will be on your C:\ drive. You need to provide both the FlexRAID.log and FlexRAID.sys.log files.
  • For Linux, the FlexRAID.sys.log will be in /tmp while the log.log file will be in your FlexRAID installation directory (will change that soon so that both are in the /tmp directory)
  • For the beta releases, and since the logs are very verbose, it is a good idea to delete the logs before each restart of the FlexRAID service.
  • Ideally, logs should be uploaded to dropbox (

If the logs are too big, zip them.
If you feel your logs have sensitive information, add password protection and pm it to me.

In some cases, you will need to increase the log level (set to INFO by default): you can modify the level in logging.options.txt file located in FlexRAID's install directory, and change INFO to TRACE.
Note that with this level, your logs will be even more verbose, and you'll need to do some cleanup from time to time.
