Why do I need to setup Shares in FlexRAID under WHS2011?
« on: July 12, 2013, 10:33:13 am »
Hi - I've just installed FlexRAID and have setup a share in WHS2011 pointing to the FlexRAID pool. I appear to be able to access this without issue from the client desktops even though I haven't setup anything in FlexRAID shares.

Do I need to setup the shares in FlexRAID as well? What won't work/will break if I only setup the share in WHS, as it seems to be working at the moment?

Regards,

Charles

I would like to know the answer to this aswell. Is it wiser to setup shares in both?, if so which one first WHS2011 or flexRAID?

The answer that I found is that the shares disappear on reboot otherwise.

I haven't found the order to be material.
