Storage pooling unavailable.
« on: December 03, 2011, 04:38:05 am »
I installed the new version a few hours ago (went from beta 7 to 8 ) and now I can no longer add a storage pool, only the radio buttons for "expert" and "snapshot" are available and the rest are grey. Although my pre-existing configuration shows up in the webui (eventhough I did a full uninstall 5-odd times and deleted the folders), it doesn't run and there is no "publish" button.

Help please.

I'm gonna say this before someone else does.  ;D

Please provide us some logs so we can see what is really happening. :)

You can find info about logs here:  http://forum.flexraid.com/index.php/topic,234.0.html

Do you have any kind of RDP / Teamviewer installed? So someone could remote into your machine and have a look, it's often much easier and faster :)

Help please.

You can only have one configuration utilizing the storage pool in the current releases.
A Cruise Control configuration, a Storage Pool configuration in Expert mode, and a Real-Time parity configuration in Expert mode are mutually exclusive.
The only thing you can have a multiple configuration of is Snapshot RAID in Expert mode.
Being able to have multiple pool will be enabled in future releases.

So, delete your current configuration if you don't want it.

I can't delete it either. I should have mentioned that before.

"Statuscodeexception 500 The call failed on the server; see server log for details"

I presume the server log is the information I posted above.

Can I manually delete the configuration file? Uninstalling the program doesn't help with this.

Thanks Brahim, that did the trick. All back up and running again.

Problem solved.

You, sir, are a legend.
