@Airbander
I see that you figured it out. You had to delete all volumes off the disk intended to be used as PPU.

...
Some clarifications/helpful notes to be made in that thread:
- In  Energy Saving mode (the default), only one data disk + the parity disk(s) are active while writing
- When reading, only the data disk is active in both Energy Saving mode and Performance mode
- For performance related concerns, refer to this thread for how it is being addressed: http://forum.flexraid.com/index.php/topic,3109.0.html
- Disk performance and buying recommendation: http://forum.flexraid.com/index.php/topic,3111.0.html
- For people doing large migration into tRAID, I tend to recommend that they move their data in first to the source disks outside of the RAID before computing parity.

Hello

I am confused about this part

" - For people doing large migration into tRAID, I tend to recommend that your move their data in first to the source disks outside of the RAID before computing parity."

see right now i am useing a test pc with test drives most of them are 250GB drive and so on but my real system has 24 TB worth of data , i dont have space to take 24 TB out to new drives so in my case, once i learn how to use tRaid properly i will move to tRaid and build parity from there

Thanks alot

What I mean by that is that people coming from hardware RAID or other non-compatible formats should copy the data to the new disks before creating the array.

For hardware RAID guys, you can't break the hardware array without moving all the data off, which implies you have the space for the migration.
If coming from another system where you are able to move one disk at a time, you can still do such migration prior to creating the tRAID array. It could prove faster albeit less safe.

Essentially, you would be moving your data to unprotected disks and create the tRAID array once all disks are ready.

What troubleshooting steps have you taken on your own?

Is the broker service up (NZFSB.exe)?
Checked resource monitor for disk activities?
Checked the Windows event viewer for clues?
Checked SMART for things like error count?

You have access to the system. So, it is you who should tell us what's going on. ;)

Guys, you have to do a better job at providing info so that others are better able to help you.

Hello

Some of my friend in Media Browser3 forum wants to know on How to create a Pool but no build parity protections.

is it possible with tRaid to just use The pool but not parity ?

Thanks in advance

This is currently not possible in tRAID. There is plan to make it an option in future releases.

Nevertheless, this is possible in RAID-F in Expert mode configuration.

You create the shares as you will do on a normal disk.
Remember to backup your share configuration. See wiki for more info.

Correct. You create them using Windows disk sharing facilities. You backup the shares after you have configured your shares the way you like them.
