FlexRAID Install on CentOS 6.5
« on: December 12, 2013, 04:05:22 pm »
I was a previous user of FlexRAID on Ubuntu and have decided to rework my environment to run CentOS 6.5. FlexRaid is great to pool disparate hard drives together and I would love to continue to use the product but my efforts to achieve a successful install and operation of the software on CentOS have failed.

I have installed 32bit libraries and tried the Linux and Linux Alternative FlexRAID bin files from the website. For CentOS, the regular Linux bin file has brought me the closest to a functioning FlexRAID but i get the following errors...(See the screen shot and corresponding contents of the file referenced there.

Are you able to run on a trial license?

Try a clean install with new DB (delete any old DB).

I tried the trial license but there was an error when adding drives to the pool, it didn't led me proceed.

The regular license was never authenticated when i entered it with my sudo password.. just fyi.

1. What issue do you get with the alternate release?

2. Have your tried running as root?

3. You will likely have to go back to Ubuntu. Based on the backlog of items that needs addressing, it will be months before I get to look at distro specific stuffs.
