Verify Fails - not sure what to do?
« on: February 06, 2014, 04:08:00 am »
The last few days my Flexraid drive has been acting rather strange(suddenly claiming the drive ran out of space when trying to copy files etc)
I tried to verify the array and got the following error rather quickly:

Error Code = 511

16 4KB blocks failure

First byte failure at 3097948160

Last byte failure at 3098010111

Operation aborted!

Failed UoR position = 4

Failed UoR ID = 10006

I've tried searching for the error code and such but haven't found any results.
I can't figure out what my next step is supposed to be? I can't even figure out which disk it is complaining about from the error :-/
Is it a hardware error or a problem with my sync? it isn't flagging any of my disks as failed

Thanks

A positive error code is the number of failed bytes in the last buffer.
Make sure you are on the latest release. Run the Verify & Sync operation.

You don't describe your setup much - drives and their free space - what you were copying - reserve settings - etc. So, no real comment can be made on the space management issue.

Hi

I've upgraded to the latest release, after that I ran verify & sync which fixed some errors.
I thougt it was the source of my problem and therefore didn't give much details until it was fixed, unfortunately it still doesn't work.
Here's my setup:

Western Digital RED 4TB Parity Drive
Western Digital RED 4TB (G: 247GB out of 3,63TB available)
Seagate LP 2TB (H: 4,74GB out of 1,81TB available)
Seagate LP 2TB(I: 40,6GB out of 1,81TB available)
Seagate LP 2TB(J: 121GB out of 1,81TB available)
Flexraid (V: 413GB out of 9,09TB available)

My reserve setting is 60GB I'm trying to copy a 20GB file, the speed suddenly drops to 0 and after a while windows pops up with an error that the destination is unavailable :-S

1. You are mixing issues. Start a new thread of your current issue is different from the one you started a thread for. Starting a thread on one issue and discussing something else, throws off others reading the forum.

2. "It doesn't work" is as vague as it gets.

3. Be fully descriptive of your issues and provide logs as needed.

So, start a new thread with your current issue.
