Missing files in the pool
« on: February 11, 2015, 02:19:31 pm »
in my tRaid config with 4 drives and 1 parity the files of one of the data files are missing in the pool. none of the drives is dropped. stopping and starting the array doesn't help the files don't appear in the pool. any ideas on this issue?

Make sure that disk is properly partitioned and has a partition label as per the wiki instructions.

Ok, sorry that i might have formulated the issue incorrectly. The Array was setup following the steps in the Wiki. The Array was initialized and started correctly. But after a day or two the files of one of the drives were missing(without any drives dropped). I removed the array completely and recreated and initialized by doing nothing. No missing files so far. Should I verify and sync now to create parity?

best Regards

You should Verify & Sync. Look into the system logs for clues as to what might have happened.

the Parity Disk just dropped, and the files of one of the data drives have disappeared. Any suggestions what I should look for in the syslog?

ok looks like there is some I/O error stuff going on, think i will replace the drive and see if this fixes the issues.

I copied the Data from the Drive producing errors and replaced it, however that drive was not the one with the missing files. I will start the array again and see if it works.
