Official install guide?
« on: May 18, 2015, 01:40:56 pm »
I don't mean to moan but if I want to invest in your software then I think there should be some official, clear and concise install instructions for Linux.

All I've found is this which seems to be mentioned as a good source as instructions in many places, but after running "./FlexRAID &" (as root), I'm met with the below which seems to be indefinite. The given link suggests that this long period of hang is normal and it does progress to finish initialization, but mine has been running for 90 minutes now and so far I've seen nothing.

I had this working this morning and I was able to access the WebUI, but once I rebooted the WebUI failed and the storage pool wouldn't mount (but the process was running when I did "ps -aux"). Not sure what's gone on but I'm seriously considering on buying a license but only if it works.

It seems you guys have been out of work on the website for 200+ days but I think a good solid Wiki would do wonders for your sales.

Did you look at the Ultimate Linux Guide to Transparent RAID in the wiki?

Wrong forum. This is the the RAID-F forum.... so the post was no help.

Is there a guide for RAID-F ??

Atleast now you know where the wiki is, so you can do a search by yourself  ;)

When it comes to RAID-F, the wiki needs to be redone. This is planned for the near term.

Brahim,

I'm currently running 2.0u12 final with no issues on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS.  I've been thinking of upgrading to the new release.  Do I need to uninstall this version first?

I noticed your screenshot of the script and it shows an option:  2 - Update.

If I run the update will it update everything or should I uninstall and create everything from scratch with your new version?

Warm Regards,

Michael

Version 2.1 uses an installation manager. Updating through the installation manager only works if you installed using the installation manager.

@Brahim

The script doesn't work for me in Arch linux. 'Unknown OS'.

The .BIN file doesn't execute and I can't find instructions.

Look forward to your response in 2017.

Also , why do I need to do maths problems to submit a post? Pathetic
