How to re-enable old share config
« on: August 20, 2016, 02:34:13 pm »
Os - Win7 x64 (sp1)
Flexraid 2.1_f
Storage pool via Expert mode

Hi,

I recently upgraded from version 2.0 which had inbuilt share configuration. Defined shares were always successfully shared after pc restarts.

Since upgrading to version 2.1 shares disappear after pc restarts.

Steps I have followed are:-

1. Create storage pool
2. Create share on new storage pool from within My Computer. (Multi access privileges defined, ie user1 read only, user2 full control etc)
3. Return to flexraid UI and press backup configuration button. Saved notification received.
4. Restarted pc but share disappear.

I have read various comments on forum for similar issues and tried 'enabling server share ui' but understand this does not apply to storage pools in expert mode.

Am I missing any steps which is causing the loss of pool shate on restart or do I need to downgrade to 2.0?

Thanks for any help.

Sat

Ps tried downgrading but experiencing various errors ehen trying to start storage pool.

Are the shares defined on the pool disk itself or on folders within the pool?
In the latest release, shares can only be defined on the pool disk itself for them to be restored on restart.

Hi Brahim,

Shares are defined directly on the pool drive displayed in My Computer ( I don't need folder level shares so that's not an issue for me).

Thanks
