Security permission issue
« on: March 06, 2017, 06:45:00 pm »
I'm having a problem with a folder in my pool.

I can't open the folder or access/modify any of the security/ownership settings.

If I dismount the pool and bring the disks online manually and assign a drive letter, I can see the folder and contents without any issues.  As soon as I re-enable the pool, I can't access it again.

Any tips?  Thanks.

Is the ACL stuff enabled in the options of Flexraid?
The best way to solve the problem is, to remove the folder completely (copy it's content to a spare-drive), than re-create the folder on the pool-drive and copy the content back into that folder.

I have no idea how the ACL option became disabled.  I'll turn that back on.

As for the "fix", when several TB of data is affected, copying to other drives isn't exactly an option...

Now I've gone and enabled the ACL and I have zero access to this directory now.  Can't take ownership or even see the security permissions.  Excellent.

I suppose I need to sink a few hours into picking apart the array again, manually resetting permissions and rebuilding the pool.
