Reserve Setting?
« on: March 18, 2017, 03:19:29 pm »
Recently I had a bad drive in my array that caused problems because I was not able to identify it early enough. Also, my PPU drives were too full. I was able to recreate my array and things are now back up and running. Before I recreated my array I changed my "Reserve" setting to 35GB. It was my understanding that this would reserve 35gb of space on my PPU drives. This would prevent issues I had with large files not being able to be copied to my PPU drives because they were too large.

I now look at my PPU drives and they only have 16.47GB of free space. Things are running fine but I am concerned I will my "not enough space on parity drive" issue again in the future.

Is the "Reserve" setting not the setting I should make for PPU? Are there other setting I have that may be causing this problem? Please help.

I have attaches screenshot my drive manager and run-time properties.
