Adding drives from network (second pc)
« on: July 08, 2017, 03:33:58 pm »
Hello

How can I add drives from my second pc to the storage pool?

I created "Expert, Storage pool only"

I already gave them a drive letter in windows 7 but dont know what to do next. (I tried adding the drive letter A:\ in unique volumes but that doesnt work)

When i put \\pc2\A in unique volumes i get ERROR: Storage Pool handler initialization failure!

I also tried in system control panel the unc path (\\pc2\A) but that doesnt work either. I always getting ERROR: Storage Pool handler initialization failure!

can someone help me pls its driving me nuts!
thanks!

Ps. First pc is Windows 7 and second pc is Windows 10

The FlexRAID service needs to run under a user account that has right access to those remote shares.

I dont know what im doing wrong. I made a username + login and still i get those errors.

I can connect to those drives in windows without a problem.

If I make a shortcut to those networkdrives (f.e. c:\a (pc2).lnk) and add them in Flexraid/unique drives, i can acces them but its like this: W:\target.lnk\

Why cant i just fill in the drive letter i gave them?

Ps. and when i put \\pc2\B in unique volumes and system control panel/network shares i get the message "Pool started" but i dont see the pool drive letter...omg

Hi!

Sorry for the late response.

I explained it here:

https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/48963-flexraid-network/

Next time i should better read the forums because Brahim already explained it to another user :s. So again my apologies.

ps. Flexraid rules! \m/ :D
