Looking for tRAID bug fix testers
« on: January 03, 2017, 09:20:38 pm »
Guys I am working on resolving the set of outstanding issues prior to the next major release.
The idea here is to push out patches where possible prior to the next major release. This way, users can enjoy fixes without having to commit to the major release.

Though comprehensive testing is being done on my end, it would be great to have a few users preview the fixes and validate them.

The first possible patch is one that fixes the Universal Recycle Bin (URB) issue whereas files are inadvertently being moved to the URB.

Please post in this thread and you will be PM'ed with details.

Thanks.

Thanks for dealing with my issues now.

I would be very interested in testing a fix for my particular issues, but please consider that I am using FlexRAID in a productive system.

Although it is only used by myself, I cannot risk any data loss or larger downtime (but I can experiment a little).

Looking forward to your reply!

Unless, your issues are what's announced in this thread, you might be in the wrong channel.
Only certain issues are being resolved for a patch release. Everything else will be addressed in the next major release.

So, post here only if affected by a particular bug discussed here.

I was referred to this thread by your answer to bug no. 431 (file deletion by moving them) which I reported:

"This issue is fixed for the next release.
Additionally, a patch is being issued so that users do not need to update to the next release to see this resolved.

 Please see http://forum.flexraid.com/index.php/topic,49155.0.html [^] "

My understanding was that you wanted to provide a patch for testing before the final release ...?

Quick update... PMs will be sent out tomorrow (Friday). There is a defect I found during the last round of testing that I am resolving for the time being.

Hello Brahim,

thanks for looking into this issue, since I really love your software and I'm glad it's still maintained.

Since I received an error answering your PM, I write my response here:

Unfortunately, the path did not fix my particular issue, I'm still not able to move files from the storage pool to a "local" disk. I added a log file to the bug report, so maybe it is possible to further investigate the problem:
http://bug.flexraid.com/view.php?id=431

Note that after the procedure you indicated did not work, I already did a complete restart of the server which unfortunately did not alter the behavior.

Thanks again

Adrian

I've been using the app for about 3 years now, would love to help you test out and bug report.  Thanks
