migrating FlexRaid to Linux
« on: September 13, 2018, 09:58:31 am »
I am looking to build out a flexraid setup. I haven't quite decided on T or R raid yet. I'm a bit confused on some of the differences between the two. But one of my big question is, if i build out a system on my windows machine and then later decide I want it on my linux server, can I just move it over?
I ask because i'm not sure my windows machine is going to be powerful enough to handle all I want it to, so if it's not I want to be able to move it over to my linux box. Will the configuration backup be able to import from a windows backup to a linux machine?
How are the drive info stored? Ie if i did the transfer would I have to make sure they're all plugged in, in the same order? Or does it work by drive serial?

P.S. This 4 captcha thing for each post is really annoying.
