since traid installed, Kernel faulds
« on: October 26, 2015, 11:04:22 am »
since I installed flexraid /traid I got a lot of problems with the Kernel 3.19.0-25. If I boot Kernel 3-19.0-31 I never had a problems with the Kernel.

example:

Meanwhile I´m working 5 Days on this problem and can´t find a solution.

Attached is a log file 'grep kernel from syslog', with kernel log -25 and kernel -31.

Are there any suggestions what I can do?

It is the broker faulting on your system. Nonetheless, do run memtest and some overall system stability tests (CPU stress).

I take it that you are running the latest release. Correct?

Yes I´m using the latest release, in my virtual machine it was running without problems.
In my Live-Machine I hat to upgrade to Ubuntu 14.04 and then extra install the Kernel 3.19.0-25, with was very difficult due to my dvb´s hardware running.

Any Idea how to solve the problem with the broker?

But why I don´t have problem runnuing Kernel -31, so for me that mean it is just software and not hardware fault?

I would still retest the system for stability (memtest and CPU stress).

If all is stable, then you might need to run LTS 14.04.03 instead of just upgrading the kernel.
I have heard of many issues with Ubuntu kernel upgrades without a dist upgrade. Mainly, some of your drivers may need to be updated.

I did a stress test with stress-ng! no problems

I removed the hole kernel and traid

installed the new kernel without traid installed - no problems
installed traid - the same problem as before.

For me it looks like that traid is not flexible enough to his envoirment.

I really want to use traid, I did really everything to test but I´m not able to get this system running in my 3 Years old server running 24/7 without any problem. With traid I got the fist problem. :-[

Please can you explain or make a "howto" install the right Kernel with all  the necessary things traid will need?

Kind Regards:-)

It is like I stated before, if the kernel upgrade is the issue, then you will need to run the full blown LTS 14.04.03 release.

Things should really work with the kernel upgrade. However, this is Ubuntu we are talking about.
