Error when issuing command update
« on: December 03, 2015, 03:30:23 pm »
I've got an issue and I'm not sure where to look for the log it's telling me to. When I try to run a Standard Command "Update" on my FlexRAID/DrivePool I get the following error:

An exception has occurred!
See logs for full message
Error message: The system cannot find the file specified

Any idea what might be causing this? Also where can I find this log file it speaks of?

Setup:
6x3TB HDD drives. 4 are DRU and 2 are PPU

Add a drive letter to your PPU disk and see that it has a file name flxr.meta. If it does not, look for backups of that file and rename the latest one to flxr.meta.

I have two PPU disks. One of them has that file the other one does not. How do I manually add that file to just that drive?

Okay I stopped the Storage Pool and assigned a drive letter to both of the PPU drives. I then copied the flxr.meta from one drive to the one that didn't have one. Started the drive pool again and ran the update command. This is the error.

Guessing I shouldn't have done that.

I really don't want to have to rebuild this as I'm not sure how I can keep the PPU drives the same PPU drives or the DRU drives the same DRU drives. So much data on this already.

Your meta data might have corrupted. Rebuilding the parity is the way out.
