Mismatched host and client versions
« on: February 02, 2016, 06:11:14 pm »
I've been having some issue where raid statistics do not work and raid monitoring plugin gives the error "The device for which the operation was requested was not found".  I've been trying to figure it out for a few weeks now.  It hasn't been too much of a problem because my system is running well otherwise.

I think I may have finally figured it out today.  I was looking in the /opt/traid directory and I noticed that there are text files in there that have both the host and client installed versions.  I'm not sure how this happened but the host is version 1.0_final_2015-11-09 and the client is 1.0_final_2015-11-12.

What is the correct process to correct this on linux?  Do I need to stop the raid, stop the service, run traid-install-mgr.sh and uninstall both the client and the host, reboot, update and install the client and host?

Edit:

Nevermind, it appears that those are the correct matched versions.

I'm trying to get the plugins to work on my system.  I was hoping it was because of mismatched host/client versions but it that was a red herring.  I currently am unable to get raid monitoring, or forensic to work. My NZFSWebUI.log has the following entries:

Code: [Select]
[2016-02-02 18:39:00,010] INFO  start(56) - Setting Http port to 8080
[2016-02-02 18:39:00,010] INFO  start(56) - Https port not set. Https requests will not be serviced...
[2016-02-02 18:39:00,113] INFO  executeAction(363) - Executing File Statistics for tRAID
[2016-02-02 18:39:00,118] WARN  executeAction(363) - File Statistics not run for tRAID as RAID configuration object could not be found!
[2016-02-02 18:39:00,344] INFO  init(248) - Build date: 2015.11.12
[2016-02-02 18:39:00,345] INFO  init(248) - Session UUID: 67588597-6f64-4e0c-a479-b2b12fd41eb4
[2016-02-02 18:39:05,346] WARN  init(248) - Client connection not found for host=2!
[2016-02-02 19:00:00,010] INFO  executeAction(363) - Executing File Statistics for tRAID
[2016-02-02 19:00:00,015] WARN  executeAction(363) - File Statistics not run for tRAID as RAID configuration object could not be found!

The line with  Client connection not found for host=2! is when I tried to use the forensic plugin.  The next lines are from the scheduler attempting to do a file statistic run and failing.

When I try to use the raid monitoring tab in the webui I am also getting the following error:

Code: [Select]
The device for which the operation was requested was not found!
It seems not being able to get the plugins working in linux is somewhat common with this version, I'm wondering if anyone has them working?

The host and client version can be different. What must match is the release set of versions.
So, make sure that you are installing using the installation manager.
