Update completing at 87% with EOF error
« on: April 14, 2019, 12:01:38 am »
Hi,

Been using Flexraid for 5+ years with no issues but I'm having an issue now that is stopping me from running any updates. I added a new DRU drive but the entire system was set for a refresh so I clean installed Windows 10 and set up Flexraid fresh. Nothing else installed, just Flexraid.

On setup, I used the existing parity information and all was okay but after adding some files to the storage pool and running update, I started to get errors with the update (see below). First it was a space issue error so I thought it might have been me using the existing parity data so I deleted my config and started from scratch. Set up a new parity so everything was clean (took nearly 2 days to complete).

So fresh Windows 10 install and fresh config with a new parity and now when I try to update, I keep getting these EOF errors where it lists a certain file. So I tried deleting that file but it just comes up with another file. Also sometimes mentions about a memory leak detected on native buffers.

I've restarted the flexraid service and I don't know what to do in order to update and protect my data. Need some help please.

Just crashed again but this time at 34% and EOF on a different file (deleted the other one above).

Deleted the config, uninstalled flexraid completely and reinstalled fresh. Formatted parity drive and created a new config and completely fresh parity.

Completed 100% but I am still getting these EOF errors. What the hell is going on?

Try searching these forums, as well as the archived forums, for that error.  Maybe you'll get lucky.

After doing some reading here and on other forums, it's all fixed and I'm happy.

For those wondering, I've deleted Flexraid and moved to a SnapRaid/DrivePool combination.
