The upcoming release (version 2.0 update 7) has fixes for the lingering Linux activation issue. Hopefully, that will be the end of that issue.
The release will be out tomorrow.

As part of the fix, I am resetting all Linux activations.
So:
1. Do not attempt to activate/re-activate your purchase till you have updated to build 7
2. After updating to build 7, reset your activation by going to System Control Panel -> Reset Activation
3. Between now and the release, please use the trial feature

I will reset the activations just prior to posting the new release.

Thanks.

I can confirm that patch files fixed an issue with activation.

Okay, update 7 for Linux is out.
All Linux users have had their licenses reset. So, no need to contact me.
Most users should really remain issue free, but if you are one of the affected users, please reactivate.

To reactivate, you need to reset your activation:
- Option 1: In the FlexRAID UI, go to System Control Panel -> Reset Activation
- Option 2: Create a reset.activation.txt file in the install root and restart FlexRAID

Not working for me.  Every time i try to reactivate the process craps out with a sig 11

Code: [Select]
JET RUNTIME HAS DETECTED UNRECOVERABLE ERROR #17 (system exception).
Please, contact the vendor of the application.

Signal 11 (SIGSEGV)
siginfo: si_signo 11, si_errno 0, si_code 1, si_addr 0x4

1. OS?
2. Logs?
3. What happens if you try with a clean DB?

Ubuntu 11.10
There is nothing in the logs.  I just see the java error pop up in the terminal with a 0 error code.

I haven't tried a clean DB yet.  I got a temp licence and that worked fine.  I also tried to download the licence data option an that also crapped out.

I can confirm that the activation issue is fixed for Linux (Ubuntu 12.04) with the latest Update 7 (at least on my machine). That takes care of an annoying issue. Thanks a lot, Brahim!

I tried importing an existing key.  It seemed to work then about 3 days later I got the error message about raid not being licensed.

I tried with a clean DB and still didnt work

How about resetting your activation (System Control Panel -> Toolbox -> Reset Activation) and activating online?

That's what i've been doing.  If i do a reset and try to activate online or download info for registration it crashes.  If I use an existing key or get a 14 day trial it works for 3 days or so then goes back to saying i'm using an unlicensed feature.

To use a clean DB, I just deleted the raid I created and re-genned.  Is that enough or should I delete some files on the FS?

Which version are you running? Please use the latest (7r2 as of this posting).
If all else fails, email your purchase code to sales.

Update 7r2 does not have any activation fix.
So, your issue is elsewhere.
Email your purchase code.

I deleted all the DB files.  I did a clean install with r2.  I tried to activate online and it crashed like it has been doing since I moved from the dev version.  Further details in my mail to sales with the purchase code
