Explicit Merge Mode with Network Shares
« on: June 26, 2012, 11:39:15 am »
I am currently trying to use Explicit Merge Mode to join two network shares into a storage pool.
Can I know if this can be done? And if yes can someone guide me how?

I have already run the Flexraid service under a user that has access rights for the windows share.

The network share are like this

\\server01\data01
\\server02\data01

I would like to pool them into a folder name of DATA

Not sure what should be the next step, how do i write the config?

Thanks!!

Yes, it can be done using UNC paths.
Code: [Select]
-V:\
|-*\\server01\data01
|-*\\server02\data01

Or you can mount the paths to drive letters and use those. Which ever way you prefer.

Refer to the wiki for guidance: http://wiki.flexraid.com/2011/03/26/flexraid-view-explicit-configuration/
