RAID-F on Linux / Ubuntu Transport Endpoint Disconnected
« on: March 10, 2018, 03:53:20 pm »
I am having an issue with my snapshot raid setup on my ubuntu machine. Every few days (especially if I have done a big data transfer to my pool) the pool will disconnect, but appear to still be mounted. The error I get is that the "transport endpoint is disconnected." I think FlexRAID is glitching or freezing and suddenly disconnecting the pool without unmounting. Has anyone run into this or fixed this issue before. My solution is to reboot, but it is pretty annoying to have to do this every few days.

Snapshot RAID / Recommended Encryption for Storage Pool?
« on: February 10, 2018, 06:37:39 pm »
I am looking to increase my security on my ubuntu system. How can I set up drive/pool encryption for my system? Will this work nicely with a NAS setup and Plex media server?

I have heard of Truecrypt and I am not sure if this is my best option.

Snapshot RAID / Meta Data Size for snapshot RAID
« on: January 26, 2018, 07:01:23 am »
I had a snapshot raid configuration set up for a while and I had about 3.6TB used. I had to delete that configuration and start a new configuration to make drive swapping easier. I removed 2 drives from the array but both were small (80gb and 160gb) and empty. My new configuration is showing 2.7TB used. I can't seem to see any missing data yet. Is that extra space because I am in a fresh configuration and haven't built up the meta data related to the configuration?

RAID-F on Linux / OS Reinstall/Re-activation
« on: December 23, 2017, 03:34:49 pm »
Hello everyone,

I had to reinstall Ubuntu on my server. I have also reinstalled FlexRAID but I need to reactivate it. I can't seem to find my activation key. Is there another way I can prove my purchase and activate it?

Thank you for the help.

Snapshot RAID / Second Array Different Than First??
« on: September 16, 2017, 05:15:24 pm »
Hello,

I am trying to create my second array on my ubuntu server. My first one is a cruise control snapshot raid and it initialized (showed up as a single folder in file explorer) and is running without issues. I am trying to create a second array in the same way, but the UI forces me to use expert mode and snapshot again. I am trying to use TRAID infinity with 2 DRU and 1 PPU (all external HDDs) to achieve the same result as the first (see image "original_array" attached) , but the array configuration window is entirely different and there is no button the start the array (see image "new_array" attached). Any help on setting up the second array as the first would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

RAID-F on Linux / Incorrect Storage Pool size Ubuntu
« on: July 27, 2017, 07:57:28 pm »
Hello,

I have RAID-F setup in Ubuntu 14.04 and I have about 10 TB of storage across a few drives. In the web app the correct size is displayed, but in nautilus it only shows the capacity as 3.9 TB. Any ideas on why that is?

Thanks

Snapshot RAID / RAID-F SSD Cache for overall speedup
« on: July 18, 2017, 09:19:32 am »
Hello,

I just got started with FlexRAID and I have a RAID-F storage pool set up using various HDDs. I am looking to speed up the storage by putting an SSD cache infront of the pool. Is this possible on RAID-F?

Thank you.
