A bit sad that a critical post gets deleted. Is criticism not allowed in the Soviet state of Brahim-Land?  >:(

Do you know 2.0 is safe? I'm rather concerned that (a) 5 weeks or more elapse with no sign of a fix (b) no update from Brahim on fix ETA (c) nothing else on website to warn or no withdrawal of borked release.

And there was me thinking to come back to FlexRAID

You should disable the Universal Recycle Bin feature for now.  There is an outstanding bug affecting it.

Now you are back from vacation, any ETA on fixing this CRiTiCAL bug??? ;)

Good news but Weeks/Months/Years for ETA?

I appreciate what you are asking but you asked in t-RAID not RAID-F forum.

This probably is indicative of the fact that RAID-F is looking rather neglected and sad :(   So that is probably your answer

I reported issues with Recycle bin many months back before I stopped using FR. This is the best feature FR has over free alternatives IMHO and works with paid alternative I am currently using. Would be nice if it actually were to be working. I'd probably be using FR RAID-F if it did.

Is RAID-F dead and broken then (no updates in ages)? Does Universal Recycle work on t-RAID?

Not been running FR for a while since my key got "upgraded" into "invalid" state due to a hardware change :-(

Enabling SSD Acceleration of RAID-F Pool

That is my aim, to use an SSD as the landing zone. If I made ALL my HDDs restricted volumes then the SSD becomes the default write location and I then need a script to move files from SSD to HDDs (which could be quite a fun exercise since the HDDs are restricted).

However, depending on how FR works it could be easier:

Consider: 2 Unique volumes allowed (one SSD, one HDD), Auto Folder Priority enabled (i.e. files go onto disks which have the folder already created first) and both drives have the same folder structure.

I assume Flexraid writes a new file to
A) The one with most free space, rather than...
B) The first drive in the list of Unique volumes, rather than...

However, if it did (B) then you could easily enable SSD acceleration by putting the SSD as the first volume in the Unique volume list.

I've noticed t-RAID offers SSD acceleration but RAID-F does not. Is this something that could be added (i.e the B scenario) ? ? ?

Whats your returns policy? I have not used my code bought 14 days ago. UK law says I can return for refund (I am in UK)... Wanted to see if you had any policy on returns/refunds that might be more generous (many do)?

I will go on record now to say I wish to return/refund my unused code...  so as to preserve my rights.

And left out to dry by "sales". I should have sussed that emailing "sales" for a "support" issues means "no support but they will try to sell you something you already paid for"

I am NOT happy in case anyone is in any doubt.  >:(  >:(  >:(

Count yourself lucky. On my install of 2.1 it refused to take my licence details and I am FORCED to buy a new licence to run a product I already paid for.....  >:(

However, if you wish to rebuild your system be aware that Flexraid isnt quite as open a product as you might think. Once you change a mobo or a HDD at some "seemingly random" time it will decide you need a new licence. Check the FAQ and read carefully. It is a little contradictory IMHO...

I just got screwed by it. Now on a new mobo anyway, since I was out of my FR licence I might as well change the defective mobo (which might have been what killed the HDDs or cause the controller to drop drives who knows)... but when that event happens don't expect to find the Flexraid team on your side, until you cough for a 2nd licence.

RAID-F on Linux / Re: Official install guide?

Did you look at the Ultimate Linux Guide to Transparent RAID in the wiki?

Wrong forum. This is the the RAID-F forum.... so the post was no help.

Is there a guide for RAID-F ??

Having exact same problem... :(

There IS a version for testing... it's on the forum.. just look
