Title: Waking Sleeping Disks
Post by: rxp on July 18, 2016, 03:50:07 am
I added an 8 Bay JBOD tower to my setup. All it contains are movies and the only folders on there are movie folders.

Whenever sonarr downloads a TV show into the sonarr/TV directory all my pool disks are woken up including the 8 bay JBOD tower that only has movies.

How can I avoid this behavior? Unfortunately RAID-F has no multiple pool capabilities. If it did that would likely be a solution. But is there anything else I can do?

It is most likely that the program is scanning the disk's directory structure before downloading. You might want to point that program to a staging folder whether inside or outside of the pool.

A system in one of these states is not performing any computational tasks and appears to be off. ... Some devices can wake the system from a sleeping state when certain events occur, such as an incoming call to a modem. In addition, on some computers, an external indicator tells the user that the system is merely sleeping
