Title: SAS 9201-16e and FlexRAID
Post by: mx5gr on October 03, 2016, 10:04:47 am

I have been using the 9210-8i card flashed in IT mode as indicated for a while now to a great success. However, due to a change of server hardware and the already-consumed available capacity of the card (8 disks), I am thinking of upgrading to a 16-port card.

Has anyone been using the SAS 9201-16e card with FlexRAID? Is there a difference between stock and other OEM implementations (e.g. Avago H3-25379, Dell KV5JY H3-25379-01K)

The external disks will be housed in different chassis using 2m SFF-8088 -> SATA breakout cables, such as http://www.ebay.com/itm/2M-SFF-8088-TO-Esata-Mini-SAS-26P-TO-ESATA-7P-Latch-SFF-8088-TO-4x-E-SATA-Cable-/261474201502?hash=item3ce113af9e:g:bY8AAOSwwbdWLYMy

Thank you!

I've been using the LSI SAS31601E with four SE3016s rackables for two years now with tRAID.  Config has been great.

The only thing I caution is...  drivers.  I could be wrong, but drivers were hard to find even two years ago.  I went poking around recently to see if I can find W10 drivers...  and realized I couldn't even find the old W7 drivers anymore.

If you know where I can get W10 drivers, please let me know.

Found drivers.  (Forgot they got bought out, brain fart, sorry).  But indeed, no W10 drivers.

But beyond being a legacy adapter, it's been 100% perfect.
