I keep reactivating on my machine without issue. I have to reset activation and activate online every time my machine restarts. Anyone have any ideas?

I am a bit frustrated at the current licensing system.

I had originally re-installed to do a drive failure. I have been having nothing but problems trying to get a working version because of licensing issues.

It will never find the existing key file no matter what i do so i see little use in emailing the information. Im sure its  just me but it always tells me the file does not exist. either in the log or in a pop up message.

I had reactivated at one point  and was able to perform an update.  Alas as soon as my system restarted (I think) the product was no longer activated. I get this message: "License Exception: Is the feature you are trying to use licensed?"

I also noticed the version info was no longer in the upper right portion go the screen. That seems to return the first time i reactivated the software.

Im not sure if i missed something on where a file must be or something who knows...any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Storage Pooling / Re: auto folder priority/ storage pool, auto balancing?
« on: January 31, 2012, 09:31:20 am »
I would like to fill only the "partially filled" drive..Then move on to the next empty drive. I have the thresh hold higher than my free space.

I want to avoid having my Movie folders split all over the storage pool, that was my main reason for pulling them out of the WHS pool.

Is there a way for me to accomplish this? I just noticed the "Restricted Volumes". How can I specify to write to specific volumes?

Storage Pooling / auto folder priority/ storage pool, auto balancing?

I just noticed that Flexraid duplicated my movie folders and moved info(jpg, tbn, etc inside those folders to a mostly full drive, I have not touched the folders in question, Does it balance automatically? The date of creation seems to be when i upgraded and recreated the pool.

RAID-F on Windows / Another XBMC Flexraid Issue
« on: January 26, 2012, 09:18:49 am »
I just installed XBMC on a Netbook with Nvidia ION Atom dual core CPU 10/100 NIC, Windows 7.

I previously posted about XBMC DVDplayery having problems with flexraid storage pool and DVD rips on all of my machines currently 3. This has never been resolved and am unaware of why.

Im having problems with the storage pool and Blu ray rips on my new install on the netbook. Streaming form the storage pool is fine with every player except the DVD player in XBMC (TMT3,TMT5,MPC-HC, VLC). With XBMC DVD player The movie will start to play for a few seconds, then it says "buffering" and the network drops to a crawl on the monitor(task Manger).

If I share the HDD outside the pool everything plays as it should.

RAID-F on Windows / password for Google voice (sms) and email not hidden
« on: November 14, 2011, 10:28:55 pm »
I just noticed setting up alerts in the settings that the passwords for email and the Google voice are not hidden.

Is there a change for this in the next version?

XBMC Library Mode ONLY! Browsing file mode works on XBMC and all other media players work.

I have Changed my config and renamed my folder with no spaces so i can share them without sharing the root.

Actually that was a mistake neither machine is working with DVD rips. I need to edit that post. I was mapped differently on my second machine.

Currently this doesn't work. \\SERVER\Movies\DVD\MovieName\Video_TS\

This Does: \\SERVER\DVD\MovieName\Video_TS\

I Have my pool set to share MOVIES with three folders inside.

I changed to share DVD and it works.

Its just one level deeper. I wonder if that one level looks different to XBMC under FlexRaid FS

I also tried many different ways (SMB..Mapped Drive etc.) all with the same results. The only way it works is to share each category individually.  Just have rename all the folders...

Can I rename them in the pool and have it effect all the discs?

The problem is that my files are still spread across 25 drives thanks to WHS v1 drive extender.  anyone know of a good script or utility to pull them all back together again on individual drives?

I had the same problem. I got tired of my 1tb seagate drives dying(still have three more) and the difficulties of restoring the drive. I had to restore the drive to a disc not included in the WHS pool. Then copy the data back through the "shares" so WHS would know where the files are.

I had to have enough space to to have the files back on the WHS server without adding the new drive to the pool until the job was done. Which was about 11 hours for the restore and another 8-9 for file transfer. Dont forget the times i ran into a duplicate file like "thumbs.db that stopped the whole process in server 2003(unlike windows 7 that saves all conflict to the end!! Those are fun when you hit go walk away fro a few hours.

Oh, and trying to get  failed drive out of the pool has been a pain for both failed drives I have had. It DOESN'T EVER work like the thing is supposed to. Ranting sorry...

I got a 2tb drive added it to WHS machine outside the pool and started copying data from the shared folders to the new drive. Removing the drives as room in the pool permitted. LONG and tedious but I will have more failures. If the restore is much less painless with less downtime...Its worth it!! I only had 9 drives to take out of the pool.

I just very thankful for FlexRaid and the community here. Even with all the hassle...I still got almost all my data back and it was much quicker than ripping all my movies again... :)

RAID-F on Windows / XBMC ?? for storage pool

When I got my storage pool working I re mapped my drives to the pool.

Im having a strange problem. XBMC library wont play dvd rips from pool. If i remap the drive directly (out of the Pool) it plays fine. It seems to be only with dvd rips and XBMC Library mode. In file mode i can drill down to the .ts.ifo and play it as well.

I have posted in the XBMC forum as well. just wondering if anyone had some other thoughts.

One more thing, my bluray and MKV files play fine with XBMC library and the pool.

RAID-F on Windows / Re: Trouble setting up Permissions on WHS box
« on: November 04, 2011, 11:32:49 am »
I had to run "net share" from cmd line to find the problem. WHS  will not allow double quotations in the share name for me. Therefore I could not use spaces in the share name or path. Strange...

I was able to share the root  X:\ with "Movies" and grant permissions as needed. Then of course Map the folders inside X

Everything seems to be good!!

Thanks loving having the pool again!!
