FlexRAID™ on Windows / Re: Huge .@RECYCLER$ Folder

i'm assuming you are running raid-f.

that folder is normal when you have "Enable Recycle Bin Mode: True" in your run-time properties.

however, it should delete the files after a successful update.

RAID-F on Windows / Migration
« on: January 28, 2018, 11:09:12 pm »

so i am planning to ditch windows 10 in favor of windows server 2016.

i found this wiki which seems to match my needs for migration

i can easily identify my ppu to start the process. no problem there.

my question is do the remaining dru's need to be swapped to their original corresponding dru disk? or can i choose any of the dru disks?

i only ask this because i now have 28x4tb drives and it can be a little confusing.

any tips would be greatly appreciated.

regards.  :)

I love your new setup, Wirerogue. I'm digging those blue lights. Are you planning on adding even more?
It pains me to have four blue lights that are not blinking so I will fill those empty bays after the next major flexraid release

so i'm getting ready to add 4 more drives and maybe updated to latest raid-f and it made me think back.

before flexraid, about 6-7 years ago.

after flexraid, 24x4tb

since the ppu is part of the array, what is the path to ppu2?

that's what i'm trying to figure out.

my array is assigned drive letter V:

flexraid has assigned a drive letter of B: to my ppu2.

in windows, the drive was mounted to empty folder C:\volumes\disk 12

it will pretty much let you put anything in the metadata field but, it doesn't tell you if it's correct.

what is the correct way to define my metadata path to flxr.meta in windows?

am i using the drive letter defined by flexraid or am i using the actual volume path in windows?

any actual example would be appreciated.
